Court Observation – Judge Yolanda Trotman – 47 minutes late

Judge Yolanda Trotman
Was attending what ultimately was a continuation of a Probable Cause Hearing for Defendant Doral McHam. Was told by ADA Leslie Sample that the cases were not yet papered and the Probable Cause hearing was once again continued to November 5th.

Although court was scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m., Judge Trotman entered at 9:47 a.m. She began with several announcements, (1) no hats in her courtroom although that did not apply to women; and (2) she would not tolerate any distractions in her courtroom or offender would be held in criminal contempt and would go to jail.

Watched the first two cases where defendants stood at courtroom railing. I viewed burgundy underwear and teal blue underwear and thought that proper wearing of belts and pants should be part of the announcements.

Left the courtroom after the first two cases.
