|Defendant is 16 years old and has been in jail since 9/9/16; previous conviction was on 2/4/16. Over half of the current charges have been dismissed; however, McHam has 22 charges in Iredell County. Defendant was unsuccessful in using stolen credit cards due to not having matching ID.
Defense attorney stated there was insufficient evidence and it was unclear who stole the vehicle. McHam is not a flight risk and does well in school.
McHam’s mother and grandmother were present in courtroom. Defendant is attending school and counseling in jail.
Judge Archie unsecured bonds in 5911, 3226, 3228 and 3229. Three were financial card fraud and one was a misdemeanor. Other five charges remain secured.
It is the opinion of the person collecting this data that Judge Archie is stern when speaking to all defendants and maintains a very orderly courtroom.
