Court Observation – Judge W. Todd Pomeroy

Rm 5350

Grayson Ferrell made headlines in 2015 for shooting a Cornelius Police Officer. He plead guilty before the Judge today on the charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with intent to kill, public officer. The State asked to postpone the sentencing until 9/11 at 9:30am so that the injured officer could be there.

On an interesting note:
A Brian Wagoner stood before the Judge today, pleading guilty to Assaulting a minor under the age of twelve. What he was arrested for was indecent liberties with a minor. Judge Pomeroy was adamant to know why the state was only charging him with assault. That conversation between state, defense and the bench was not public. But we are noting this because the Judge made sure to question it.
